I will not consider the political identity of those involved in vandalism and looting: Home Minister

He said this while talking to journalists at the Secretariat on Sunday noon.

The Home Minister said there was negligence in the duties of the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shah Ali Police Station in the incident of vandalism and looting at the Radda MCH-FP Centre in Mirpur. He also said departmental action will be taken against him over the incident.

Regarding the attack and vandalism at content creator Salman Muqtadir's studio, the Home Minister said a preliminary investigation into the incident has been conducted and a more detailed investigation will be carried out. He asked whether Salman Muqtadir, despite complaining on Facebook Live, has filed any case over the incident yet.

Meanwhile, three people have been detained in connection with the attack and vandalism at the studio. According to preliminary police information, the incident occurred due to a dispute over land possession and dispossession in the Newgrini Properties area; police have not confirmed any involvement of extortion.

The Home Minister further said that after verification of those detained from the Jasad office on Saturday, most of them were released. He also said that everyone except 27 people has been released.

When asked about the remarks of National Citizen Party (NCP) leader Nasiruddin Patwary regarding cocktail explosions at various places in the capital, the Home Minister commented that his remarks were ‘unbalanced’ and ‘incoherent’.
