At a press conference at the NCP office in the capital on Monday, he said there is no correspondence with reality in BNP's statement that there will be no mobs and the law and order situation will improve once an elected government comes to power.

Nahid Islam said that 2,500 assistant teachers of primary schools have been dropped from recruitment. He demanded their appointment if there is no evidence against them of terrorist or anti-state activities. He also alleged that the occupation of Radda Clinic is part of BNP's ongoing extortion.

Criticizing Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's speech at the United Nations, Nahid Islam said that the people's hopes, aspirations and expectations were not reflected there; rather, a party agenda was presented.

He said that in the Prime Minister's speech on the international platform, there was no necessary direction regarding solutions to the current energy crisis, border killings, push-in and the Rohingya crisis. He also remarked that no statement was made on the failure to implement the Teesta Master Plan.
