At a press conference at the Secretariat on Monday, the Minister said that appointment letters for 817 people remain to be issued. Until the recruitment process is completed, it is not possible to say with certainty how many are being dropped. He called for not spreading confusion over the matter.

The press conference was held after a meeting of the National Steering Committee on the occasion of observing ‘World Teachers' Day-2026’. The Minister said that some media outlets are creating confusion and instability over primary teacher recruitment. As the addresses of many candidates have changed, appointment letters are being sent after verification in phases.

Regarding reports published in the media quoting statements of some candidates, he said that the concerned persons have received recruitment-related letters. However, whether anyone would be dropped in the verification process for political reasons—he did not directly answer this question.

Noting that no circular has been issued to stop transfers of primary teachers, the Minister said the transfer process will continue. In this case, to prevent corruption, the transfer process will be conducted online.
