Proposed Cyber Protection Act not meant to harass media: Home Minister

He said this to journalists at the Secretariat at noon on Monday.

Earlier, on September 26, the Prime Minister's Information Adviser Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman said that along with ensuring people's protection, effective initiatives are needed to stop disinformation online. To this end, he emphasized increasing media awareness or media literacy among people.

He also said that the proposed Cyber Protection Act has not yet been finally passed. As a result, there is scope for changes and amendments to it.
