Pakistan High Commissioner meets Health Minister

At the meeting held at the ministry's office in Dhaka on Tuesday, discussions were held on cooperation in the health sector between the two countries, finalization of the proposed memorandum of understanding, medicines, and skill development of health professionals.

At that time, expansion of trade in surgical equipment and medicines was also discussed. The Health Minister said Bangladesh could further increase exports of vaccines and cancer medicines to Pakistan. He also called on Pakistani entrepreneurs to explore investment opportunities in Bangladesh's health sector.

At the meeting, the High Commissioner presented various proposals for cooperation on organ transplantation. He said GIMS is interested in training Bangladeshi doctors in liver transplantation.

In addition, the institution has also proposed assistance in liver transplant surgery in Bangladesh and providing post-operative medical care through telemedicine.
