Nominations of 6 candidates valid in Thakurgaon-1 by-election

On Tuesday, the list was published in a notification signed by District Election Officer and Returning Officer Md. Kamrul Islam. The valid candidates are BNP's Obaidullah Masud and Mirza Faisal Amin, Jamaat-e-Islami's Delawar Hossain, Bangladesh Khilafat Andolan's Md. Abdul Alim Nizami, Islami Andolan Bangladesh's Md. Khademul Islam, and Bangladesh Congress's Hussain Muhammad Omar Faruk.

According to the schedule, appeals against the decision on nomination scrutiny can be filed from September 30 to October 4. Appeals will be disposed of on October 6, candidacy withdrawn on October 7, and symbols allocated on October 8.

Voting in this constituency will be held on October 29 from 8 am to 4 pm. Currently, the constituency has a total of 515,525 voters.

Thakurgaon-1 constituency was declared vacant as Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir assumed the duties of President.
