Bangladesh Railway protests circulation of ‘fabricated’ audio involving Director General

The protest was expressed in a press release signed by Anisur Rahman, Director (Public Relations) of Bangladesh Railway, on Tuesday (September 29).

The press release stated that the conversation circulated on social media is completely false, baseless and created with the help of technology. It was claimed that a vested quarter has deliberately engaged in this smear campaign with the aim of damaging the image of Bangladesh Railway and tarnishing the Director General's long professional reputation and defaming him personally.

Bangladesh Railway has strongly condemned and protested the circulation of such false and fabricated audio. At the same time, it requested that the protest statement be published in the media to reveal the truth.

In the press release, the concerned parties were urged to refrain from circulating such false information in the future without verification. Otherwise, it was also warned that legal action would be taken.
