Directive to ensure foolproof security and maintain harmony during Durga Puja

On Tuesday (September 29), he gave this directive at an inter-ministerial preparatory meeting on the occasion of Durga Puja at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. At the meeting, emphasis was placed on ensuring government grants reach all puja mandaps across the country properly and, considering the increase in the number of mandaps, remaining vigilant in idol immersion and security management.

The State Minister said that the long-standing tradition of harmony must be maintained by observing necessary silence during azan and prayers. At the same time, he called upon everyone to refrain from making derogatory remarks about the deities of other religions.

The State Minister directed that if attempts are made to spread rumors on social media using old or edited incidents, legal action should be taken after quickly verifying the facts. At the same time, he called upon the youth to play a role in spreading accurate information and preventing rumors.

The Minister of State for Religious Affairs directed that if any undesirable incident occurs, it should not be concealed; the real perpetrator should be identified through an impartial investigation and prompt lawful and exemplary punishment should be ensured.

The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Bijan Kanti Sarkar, Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Munshi Alauddin Al Azad, representatives of various ministries and agencies, officials of law enforcement and intelligence agencies, and representatives of the Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Welfare Front, Welfare Trust and Puja Celebration Council.
