DCs instructed to investigate artificial LPG crisis and excessive prices

He gave this instruction at an online meeting with the DCs at the Secretariat on Wednesday. The minister said there is no shortage in the supply of LPG in the country. However, it must be reported with information and evidence whether an artificial crisis is being created anywhere to charge higher prices.

He said that after receiving the DCs' reports, necessary measures will be taken by discussing with importers and relevant stakeholders. In areas where supply is low, initiatives will be taken to increase supply.

The minister also warned that if evidence is found of selling LPG at a price higher than the price set by BERC or creating an artificial crisis, action will be taken against those involved. He instructed the DCs to remain more vigilant to keep the supply situation normal.
