The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased the price of furnace oil used in power plants and heavy industries by Tk 11.92 per litre. The new price has been set at Tk 108.78.
In a notification issued on Wednesday (September 30) afternoon, BERC said the new price will take effect from 12am on Wednesday and will remain in force until further orders.

BERC said the price of furnace oil supplied by BPC has been adjusted considering the average Platts rate, the CIF price of crude oil imported in September, and the dollar exchange rate.

Earlier, the price of furnace oil was Tk 96.86 per litre.
