A top BNP leader confirmed the matter, saying that according to the party decision, Ferdousi Ahmed Misti will submit her resignation letter to the Speaker of Parliament. At the same time, she will resign from BNP as well. There is a possibility that she will submit the resignation letter on Thursday itself.
After the incident of attack, vandalism and looting at the Radda MCH-FP Centre in Mirpur in the capital, the issue of her resignation came into discussion. Leaders and activists at various levels of the ruling party were accused of involvement in that incident.
Ferdousi Ahmed Misti was joint convener of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP. The committee was dissolved on Wednesday night. After that, the issue of her resignation from the party and MP post came into discussion anew.
Party sources say the decision on her resignation was taken after internal discussions in the party over the Radda health centre incident. Although attempts were made to contact Ferdousi Ahmed Misti in this regard, she did not pick up the phone.
