The information was announced in a notification by the National Parliament Secretariat on Thursday (1 October) afternoon. It said that according to Article 67(2) of the Constitution, as she resigned on 1 October, Women's Seat-23, seat 323, of the Thirteenth National Parliament has become vacant. The Election Commission has been informed to take necessary measures to fill the seat.
Reserved women MP Misti's seat declared vacant
Earlier, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman ordered Misti to resign over the attack, looting and vandalism at the Radda MCH-FP Centre in Mirpur in the capital. The Prime Minister's Press Wing announced this. She submitted her resignation letter to the Speaker at noon on Thursday.
Late at night on 24 September, an attack and vandalism took place at the Radda health centre. After names of several BNP leaders came up in investigations by various media outlets, the incident sparked discussion in political circles. The government also said it was embarrassed by the incident.
