Messi returns home 'ahead of final match'

Messi arrived in Rosario from Fort Lauderdale accompanied by his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and their three children. He is expected to travel from there to Buenos Aires to join his national team teammates.

A TyC Sports report said Messi returned home to prepare to play his last match for Argentina. However, it is not yet confirmed that he will take the field in the upcoming match.

Argentina will play Burkina Faso at 6 a.m. on October 4 at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires. Messi's participation in that match is uncertain. According to an agreement with coach Lionel Scaloni and Argentine Football Association president Claudio Tapia, the match against Benin is being considered Messi's possible farewell international match.

For this reason, Messi has not yet joined the Ezeiza national team training center. However, he is expected to join team training soon.
