According to a bdnews24 report, he was taken to a hospital in London on Thursday night due to a brain hemorrhage. Doctors declared him dead at 2:23 pm local time on Friday.
The family said Toufique Imrose Khalidi suddenly fell ill while staying in London on a personal visit.
Toufique Imrose Khalidi, who studied in the English department of Dhaka University, worked as a journalist at The Daily Star and the BBC. He took charge of bdnews24.com in 2006 and had since been serving as editor-in-chief.
It has not yet been finalized when his body will be brought back to the country. Once the place and time of the funeral prayer and burial are determined, the family will announce it.
