Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman has said that the country's marriage and divorce registration system is being digitised. He said through this it will be possible to prevent multiple marriages by concealing information and child marriage.
He said this while speaking at a 10-day residential training programme for Nikah registrars at the BRAC Learning Centre in Niketan in the capital on Saturday.

The Law Minister said that information from online marriage registration will gradually be linked to the central servers of national identity cards, birth registration and passports. All Qazis in the country will gradually be trained to bring them under the digital registration system.

Besides, Md. Asaduzzaman also said that the postings of sub-registrars in Dhaka will soon begin through lottery to break the long-standing influence in their postings.
