On Saturday (October 3) at noon, he was taken to the CMM court in Dhaka in a prison van with handcuffs on. Before getting down from the prison van, standing at the door, he took off the helmet on his head and threw it away.
At that time, Akhtaruzzaman could be heard saying, ‘If necessary, I will die here, I will take police bullets. Even then, I will not wear a helmet.’ He could also be heard repeatedly saying, ‘Put handcuffs on [me].’
Police produced him before the court with a five-day remand application in a case of threatening an official at the airport and creating disorder. The remand application hearing was held in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Al-Biruni Mir.
On Friday (October 2) afternoon, DB arrested Akhtaruzzaman from a house in DOHS in the capital's Cantonment.
Earlier, on October 1, tension was created at Shahjalal International Airport over a luggage trolley shortage, delay in getting luggage, and not getting Zamzam water. Later, a case was filed against him on charges of disorder, obstructing government work, and harassing a security official.
