If BNP acts like Awami League, it will also have to flee: ATM Azhar
Jamaat-e-Islami's Naib-e-Amir and MP for Rangpur-2 ATM Azharul Islam has remarked that if BNP comes to power and deceives opposition parties and the people and abuses power, they too may face the same fate as Awami League.

He said this at a press conference of the Rangpur Divisional Development Forum at Jamaat's party office at Shapla Chattar in Rangpur city on Saturday. Calling on BNP to mend its behavior, he said the people will not accept unjust behavior.

At the press conference, he presented 13 demands for the development of Rangpur Division. These include implementation of the Teesta Master Plan, the second project of Madhyapara hard rock mine, modernization of Saidpur Airport, construction of a second Jamuna Bridge, development of rail communication and increase in the number of trains, gas supply to Rangpur, and establishment of a Science and Technology and Agricultural University.

Demanding special allocation as needed to eliminate development disparity in Rangpur Division, he said that disparity will not be eliminated if lagging regions are given the same allocation as developed regions. He also remarked that if the government backs down from implementing the Teesta Master Plan due to any foreign pressure, the people of Rangpur will not accept it.
