On September 22, Trump and US First Lady Melania Trump hosted the dinner in honor of world leaders and their spouses staying in New York to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. At that time, Prime Minister Tareq Rahman and his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman were in New York.

During the visit, in addition to participating in various UN activities, the Prime Minister held meetings with various heads of state and government and heads of international organizations. On September 24, he delivered a speech in Bengali at the general debate of the UN General Assembly. He returned home on September 27 after the visit.
