At a press conference at the Secretariat on Sunday (October 4), he said that this time, importance will be given to skills alongside numbers in sending workers. Workers will be prepared by providing training in Bangladesh according to the demand of Malaysian employers.
Malaysia to take 10,000 workers from Bangladesh in first phase
The minister said there are plans to send the first phase’s 10,000 workers free of cost. Later, workers will be sent through BOESL and authorized recruiting agencies according to employers’ demand.
Malaysian employers will come to Bangladesh and select workers as needed. However, as the workers’ medical examinations and approval on several matters are still pending, the process has not fully started.

Meanwhile, the minister said there are plans to launch an ‘Employment Exchange Center’ this year to increase domestic employment. Along with creating a database with information on online and in-person job seekers and institutions’ demand, job fairs and career fairs will be organized. He also said that an initiative will be taken to form a wage board this month after discussions with those concerned.
