He said this on Saturday at a review meeting on solar power, dengue prevention and development programmes organised by the Local Government Division at the Cooperative Building in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, the capital.
The state minister said integrity and work efficiency are being considered as criteria in posting and promotion. He called upon field administration officials to discharge their duties sincerely, treating their workplace as their own area.
At the meeting, officials were instructed to take effective initiatives to verify land information for farmer cards, bring citizen services online, install CCTV cameras in municipal areas, prevent dengue, and ensure cleanliness and environmental protection.
Urging officials not to retreat from performing government duties for fear of propaganda or lawsuits, and to work lawfully, Abdul Bari said the doors of government offices must always remain open for people to report their problems.
Local Government Minister Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, State Minister for Local Government Mir Shahe Alam, Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister A B M Abdus Sattar, and senior officials of various levels, as well as officials of city corporations, district and upazila levels, were present at the meeting.
