He said this in his speech as chief guest at a meeting held on Sunday on security and law and order at the puja mandaps of Dhaka district and metropolitan area.
The state minister said that if any untoward incident occurs, those responsible will be identified through investigation and action will be taken against them. He directed that the preparation and drills of law enforcement agencies be strengthened before the puja and that security be increased in the early hours of the morning.
Calling for the installation of CCTV cameras at every temple and puja mandap and for immediate notification to the administration if any security risk arises, he said that there will also be coordinated measures for women's security, traffic control, and immersion activities.
Sultan Salauddin Tuku said that communal harmony in Bangladesh is a long-standing tradition. Everyone must play a responsible role to preserve this harmony.
Dhaka District Commissioner Miz Farida Khanam, State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishrak Hossain, various members of Parliament, administration officials, law enforcement agencies, and leaders of puja celebration committees were present at the meeting.
