On Monday (October 5), after shopping using Bangla QR in Motijheel in the capital, the Governor spoke with local traders. At that time, he encouraged traders to use Bangla QR.
Bangla QR service launched in nearly 4 million business establishments: Governor
According to Bangladesh Bank data, currently an average of about Tk 1.43 billion is being transacted daily through Bangla QR. If this trend continues, the Governor expressed hope that cashless transactions will spread widely across the country within the next year.
He said Bangladesh Bank is working to build a cashless economy by reducing the use of cash. As part of this, campaigns and public awareness activities are being strengthened at the field level to spread Bangla QR across the country.
