According to the government holiday schedule, there are holidays for Maha Navami on October 20 and Bijoya Dashami on October 21. Along with the additional holiday on October 22 and the weekly holidays on October 23 and 24, a continuous five-day break has been created. A notification will be issued later in this regard.

Office on October 17 in lieu of the holiday
In adjustment of the additional holiday, government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions will remain open on Saturday, October 17. That means that day will have to be observed as a working day.
No holiday for emergency services
However, not all government officers and employees will be able to enjoy the five-day holiday. To keep emergency and essential services running, the concerned employees will have to perform their duties.

Those engaged in emergency services, including hospitals and health services, police and other law enforcement forces, fire service, electricity-gas-water supply, ports, airports, railways, prisons and disaster management, will have to remain at their workplaces as needed.
In addition, employees of institutions or organizations whose activities cannot be kept closed during the holidays will have to perform duties in accordance with the instructions of their respective authorities.
