He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the 53rd Regional Summer Sports Competition at Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium on the Cumilla Education Board premises on Tuesday (October 6) morning.
The Education Minister said that there will be both victory and defeat in the competition. Defeat must be accepted easily, and one must learn from it and prepare for the next success. Alongside studies, students' latent talents must be developed through sports.
Mentioning major changes in the 2027 education curriculum, he said that sports, culture, and moral and human values have been included in the curriculum from Class Four. The goal is to prepare the new generation to be suitable for leading the country in the future through joyful and technical education.
Emphasizing the need to turn the country's population into skilled human resources, the Education Minister said that educated and skilled human resources must be created. The Ministry of Education will continue its cooperation in developing students' sports skills and latent talents.
Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher Sumon, Prime Minister's Adviser and Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office Mahdi Amin, National Parliament Whip A B M Ashraf Uddin (Nijan), and officials of the education administration were present at the event. Later, the Education Minister announced the formal inauguration of the competition.
