Serving the people is the main responsibility of an elected government: LGRD Minister
Serving the people is the main responsibility of an elected government, said Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan. He called upon public representatives and government officials to work responsibly to meet people's expectations.

Regarding birth and death registration, he said this activity is extremely important for national administration. However, there is a major discrepancy between the country's actual population and the data in the registration database. This discrepancy must be eliminated to make the registration system accurate and credible.

He said that using technology alone does not ensure citizen services; the people behind the technology must also be responsible. It must be ensured that no citizen has to go to the Union Parishad repeatedly to obtain a simple birth certificate.
