After the meeting, Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar said that Shafiqur Rahman had heard about the various problems and challenges of the industrial sector from BTMA leaders. He assured that he would play a role in the National Parliament in solving these problems as well as cooperate with the government.
Opposition Leader exchanges views with BTMA leaders, assures role in solving problems
BTMA Vice President Shafiqul Islam Sarkar said there is an investment of nearly 32 billion dollars in the textile sector, and raw materials for a large part of the garment industry's backward linkage are supplied from this sector. At the meeting, various problems were highlighted, including gas and electricity, incentives, taxes, and post-LDC graduation challenges.
He said many of these problems had been brought to the government's attention, and some had already been solved. Discussions are ongoing with the government on the remaining issues as well. The Opposition Leader assured that he would speak on these issues in Parliament and play a role in solving the problems.

Mia Golam Parwar further said that the Jamaat Ameer had stated he would stand by BTMA in solving the problems of the textile sector as an important part of the country's industrial sector.
Meanwhile, regarding not inviting the Opposition Leader to the closing ceremony of BATEXPO, Golam Parwar said this was an exception to the long-standing convention. He also said that Jamaat had drawn BGMEA's attention to the matter.
Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer, Dhaka Metropolitan South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, Dhaka Metropolitan North Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin, and other leaders of the party were present at the meeting.
