On Wednesday (7 October) morning, he departed for Turkey from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. At that time, Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer, and Md. Mubarak Hossain were present to see him off.

Opposition leader leaves Dhaka for Turkey
Organization sources said that Shafiqur Rahman will participate as the chief guest in the ‘Second International Conference on Bangladesh Studies’ organized at Istanbul University. The conference will be held under the theme ‘Multidimensional Perspectives on the Reform of Bangladesh 2.0 and New Horizons of Turkey-Bangladesh Cooperation’.
Istanbul University and the research organization Centre for Policy and Social Research (CPSR) are jointly organizing the conference. Academics, policymakers, diplomats, and researchers from various countries including Bangladesh and Turkey are scheduled to participate.
