According to sources at the Directorate of Primary Education on Wednesday (October 7), in the ‘Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination, 2025’, 1,080,080 people applied for 14,385 posts in two stages. A total of 69,265 passed the written examination. Later, 14,384 people were finally recommended for recruitment.
After district-wise recruitment orders, 13,831 submitted the required documents. Among them, 13,748 received appointment letters. However, 918 did not join despite receiving appointment letters. Besides, as 553 did not submit documents, the recruitment process was not completed.
On the other hand, 83 candidates who passed the examination ultimately were not recruited due to various reasons, including being dropped during verification at various stages of recruitment.
Additional Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education Abdur Rahim said many candidates did not submit documents or did not join even after receiving appointment letters because they got jobs elsewhere or were not interested. Such incidents in government recruitment are not new.
He said that because a large number of candidates did not join, a teacher crisis is being created in the schools. Preparations are underway to issue a notification soon to start a new recruitment process.
