The meeting was held on Thursday (8 October) at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon.
In the meeting, discussions were held on increasing cooperation in people-to-people connectivity, education, tourism and energy sectors between the two countries. Emphasis was also given on simplifying the visa process for Bangladeshi citizens, reintroducing on-arrival visas and launching direct flights between the two countries.
They exchanged views on creating opportunities for more Indonesian companies to operate in Bangladesh and strengthening contact between businessmen and entrepreneurs of the two countries to increase bilateral trade and investment.
Discussions were also held on expanding trade in various products including garments, jute, agriculture and palm oil, and on opportunities to increase exports of halal products. Alongside, emphasis was placed on increasing cooperation in potential sectors including trade, investment, energy, tourism and education.
Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh Ms. Listiowati and Bangladesh Ambassador to Indonesia Md. Abul Hasan Mridha were present at the meeting.
