A report published on Friday (October 9) said the storm could make landfall in the evening local time. There is a risk of heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and river overflow in coastal areas.
Some coastal areas are also at risk of life-threatening storm surge. Strong hurricane winds could cause damage in parts of Florida’s Panhandle, southern Alabama, and Mississippi.
A hurricane warning has been issued in this situation. Residents have been advised to prepare for possible prolonged power outages and to follow the authorities’ evacuation orders.
