To make the rally successful, the Local Government Division has convened a preparatory meeting next Tuesday (13 October). The meeting will be held at 11 am in the conference room of the Local Government Division at the Secretariat.

This information was disclosed in the notice of the Local Government Division's meeting on 8 October. The chief guest at the preparatory meeting will be the State Minister of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mir Shahe Alam. The meeting will be chaired by the Secretary of the Local Government Division, Md. Shahidul Hasan.

Village Police members maintain law and order in rural areas, guard and patrol, assist thana police in suppressing crime, and perform duties in various government activities of Union Parishads.

However, they have long been demanding an increase in pay and allowances and benefits. They also have demands for inclusion in the national pay scale, rations, medical and risk allowances, payment of arrears, and ensuring retirement financial benefits.
