He made the remark in a post on his verified Facebook account on Friday (October 9).
In the post, Patwary said that the politics of BNP and a section of its allies centering on Osman Hadi’s political struggle and his grave are regrettable. Calling for ensuring justice for Hadi’s killing, he said everyone should think about their political and moral responsibility before making sarcastic remarks about the grave.
He further said there is no need to disrespect the memory of one martyr while honoring the struggle of another. Ziaur Rahman’s mausoleum and Osman Hadi’s grave should be preserved with due dignity. It is not right to make any martyr’s grave a tool of political revenge or controversy.
Calling for not repeating the past politics of vandalizing graves and memorials, Patwary said that in protesting injustice, new paths of injustice must not be created.
At the end of the post, he demanded justice for Osman Hadi’s murder, respect for history, and a hegemony-free Bangladesh.
