She said these things while speaking as chief guest at a rice distribution ceremony under the GR programme at 125 puja mandaps in Manikganj Sadar Upazila on the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Utsab-2026.

The food minister said people's representatives, political leaders and activists, and the administration must properly discharge their respective duties to ensure the safety of followers of the Sanatan faith. Noting that Eid and Puja are festivals for everyone, she called for maintaining mutual cooperation and unity. She also assured continued assistance, including development of temples and cremation grounds.

At the event, 600 kg of rice was distributed to each of the 125 puja mandaps. In addition, on behalf of the municipality, a donation of Tk 20,000 each was given to four organizations of Sanatan faith followers. Later, a tree plantation, sapling and loan distribution programme was held under the initiative of Palli Sanchay Bank.

Earlier, at the freshman reception ceremony for Class XI of Munnu International School and College, the food minister called upon students to grow as ideal citizens by practicing morality, honesty, and human values.
