A drug-free society can be built through sports: State Minister for Information

He said this in his speech as the chief guest at the final match of the late Arafat Rahman Koko Memorial Mini Football Tournament at Kharua Banagram Government Primary School ground in Nandail Upazila of Mymensingh on Friday afternoon.

The State Minister said that by practicing the healthy culture of sports, it is possible to develop young people into physically and mentally healthy and capable citizens. The youth must be inspired to take interest in sports to keep them away from drugs and crime.

He further said that sports events are not limited to the players alone; people from various classes and professions, including spectators, organizers, and local residents, become involved in them. Such events play a role in strengthening social harmony and unity.
