He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting and doa mahfil organized on the occasion of the 25th death anniversary of Begum Alema Khatun Bhashani at Santosh Darbar Hall in Tangail at 11 am on Saturday (October 10). The Maulana Bhashani Foundation organized the event.

The State Minister said that holding Maulana Bhashani's works and ideals, we must move forward with the goal of building a new Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Tareque Rahman. In this regard, the lives and contributions of the Bhashani couple will serve as an inspiration for the new generation.

Shariful Alam said that his wife Begum Alema Khatun Bhashani had an important contribution to Maulana Bhashani's public welfare activities. She was a patron of education and provided support and courage to Bhashani in various endeavors.

The State Minister further said that by making it possible to use the land received from her father for public welfare work and for building educational institutions, Begum Alema Khatun Bhashani contributed to shaping people's future. He called for creating a culture of respecting distinguished people and highlighting their contributions to the new generation.
