On Saturday (October 10) around 4 pm, the meeting was held in the hall room of Jhenaigati Upazila Parishad in the border Garo Hills area.
The meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Farida Yasmin, and the chief guest was Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Abdul Awal Mintu. Special guests were Member of Parliament for Sherpur-3 constituency Mahmudul Haque Rubel and Chief Forest Conservator Md. Amir Hossain Chowdhury. Besides, officials of the Forest Department, district and upazila administrations, and leaders and activists of various levels of BNP were present.
When power went out several times during the meeting, the administration informed the Executive Engineer of the Power Department about the matter. Later, power supply remained normal in the final part of the event.
Executive Engineer of the Power Development Board Md. Shahbuddin said there is currently no load-shedding. However, power may remain disconnected due to a fault in the line. He is looking into the matter.
