He gave these directives while speaking as the chief guest at the monthly meeting of the District Law and Order Committee at the office of the Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner on Sunday (October 11) morning.
The state minister said cultural programs at Puja mandaps must be conducted respecting the azan and prayers. For this, he directed that the prayer schedule be delivered to every mandap. At the same time, he called upon leaders and activists of political parties to work collectively for the security of temples and Puja mandaps to maintain religious harmony and avoid undesirable incidents.
He further said CCTV footage must be preserved and fire extinguishers must be kept to tackle fire incidents, including electrical accidents. If there are problems on the roads leading to Puja mandaps, the administration must be informed so that repair initiatives can be taken quickly.
The state minister thanked Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for taking the initiative to allocate 600 kg of rice to each Puja mandap on the occasion of Durga Puja and to extend the Puja holiday by two days. He said the Prime Minister has sent sarees as gifts for Hindus in every electoral area of the district.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sohana Nasrin, the meeting was attended by Member of Parliament Advocate Jalal Uddin and Sheikh Mojibur Rahman Iqbal, District Council Administrator Khaled Saifullah Sohel, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, along with leaders of various political parties and government officials.
