According to complaint sources, on 27 November 2014, during the recruitment of an Assistant Maulvi Teacher at the madrasa, Masudur Rahman, who stood second among two examinees, was shown as first by altering the mark sheet. The complaint states that he was then appointed. In this incident, allegations of exerting influence were also raised against the then president of the madrasa managing committee and municipal mayor, Rafiuddin Ahmed Ferdous.
The complaint further states that although the madrasa superintendent objected, he was made to sign the appointment letter through intimidation. Alongside, allegations of fraud have also been raised regarding the accused teacher's NTRCA certificate.
When complainant Firoz Ahmed informed the Deputy Commissioner, he directed the Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Mathbaria to investigate and take necessary measures. Later, although the Upazila Nirbahi Officer asked the Upazila Secondary Education Officer to take action, it is alleged that the investigation has not been completed even after a long year.
However, Assistant Maulvi Teacher Masudur Rahman has denied the allegations brought against him. Madrasa superintendent Maulana Wahiduzzaman Shahjahan said that the then managing committee president, Rafiuddin Ahmed Ferdous, obtained his signature on the appointment letter by intimidation and exerting influence.
In this regard, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Jahangir Hossain said that the complaint letter has not yet reached him. He said that once the papers are received, the investigation will be conducted within a week.
