Deaths from measles and symptoms exceed 1,200 in the country

This information was disclosed in the regular health bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services on Monday. It said that from 8 am Sunday over the next 24 hours, the highest two deaths were reported in Dhaka Division. During the same period, 1,342 new patients with measles and symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country.

By division, 587 were admitted to hospital in Dhaka Division, 292 in Chattogram, 136 in Sylhet, 123 in Barishal, 73 in Khulna, 69 in Mymensingh, 40 in Rajshahi and 22 in Rangpur.

According to Directorate General of Health Services data, since March 15 until now, 190,663 people have been admitted to hospitals with measles symptoms. Among them, 183,042 have been discharged after treatment.

During this period, the number of people infected with suspected measles in the country stood at 214,551. Among them, 23,157 have been confirmed with measles.
