A video of her speech at a sari distribution event among the Harijan, Rabidas and Bede communities in Rajarhat on Wednesday (21 October) has spread on social media.
UNO calls minister 'Sir' 25 times in one-and-a-half-minute speech
At the event, UNO Tanjila demanded the establishment of a surveyor college in Rajarhat, and also praised initiatives such as bagging VGF rice and matters related to the interests of government employees, including the ninth pay scale. Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu was the chief guest at the event organized by the Kurigram District Administration.
However, compared with other demands, the matter of saying ‘Sir’ 25 times to the minister in one and a half minutes has drawn more criticism. Earlier, while serving as UNO in Cox's Bazar, Tanjila Tasnim got into controversy over allegations of threatening to arrest a tourist. District Commissioner Annapurna Debnath, Superintendent of Police Fazle Rabbi, and local BNP leaders and dignitaries were present at the event.
