A cheque for Tk 5 lakh was given by BRTA to the family of Firoza Begum, who was killed after being hit by a government vehicle in Shibganj, Bogura, as assistance for self-employment and livelihood. State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shah Alam handed over the cheque to the family of the deceased Firoza on Friday (October 23) morning.
On September 4, while crossing the road in Gopinathpur area of Shibganj, Firoza Begum came in front of the vehicle carrying State Minister for Public Administration and Food Abdul Bari. In an attempt to save her, the driver lost control and the vehicle went into a paddy field. In this incident, the State Minister, his wife and Firoza Begum were injured. Later, Firoza Begum died while undergoing treatment.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer, local BNP leaders and senior officials of the police administration were present at the cheque handover ceremony.
