The police's duty is to enforce the law, prevent crime and ensure the safety of citizens. But if any member takes unethical benefits for personal gain while performing duties, its impact falls on the entire force. Especially, if allegations of bias arise in important work such as crime control, accepting cases, investigation or operations in exchange for money or any other benefit, people's trust in the law is damaged. This gives criminals an opportunity, and ordinary people are left uncertain about receiving the services expected from the police.

According to concerned persons, to maintain public trust in the police, internal accountability of the force needs to be ensured. If allegations of taking unethical benefits arise against any member, it must be quickly investigated to determine the truth. If the allegations are proven, departmental action as well as legal action, where applicable, must be taken. At the same time, it is also important to ensure the working environment and safety of responsible and professional police members.
Khulna Range DIG Md. Rezaul Karim said that the current government has a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, drugs and terrorism. For this, a purification campaign is first being conducted within the force. Such taking of unethical benefits creates obstacles in bringing law and order under control and building public trust in the police. The IGP sir also has strict instructions to take strict action against those who take such unethical benefits. In continuation of that, such a purification campaign is being conducted in Khulna Division.
