On Monday (November 2), after the preliminary hearing of a writ petition, a bench comprising Justice Sikder Mahmudur Razi and Justice Fatema Anwar passed this order. Lawyer Parvez Hossain argued for the writ petition in court.

High Court stays decision to cancel governing bodies of Fazil-Kamil madrasas
Earlier, in an office order of the university on October 19, it was announced that the existing governing bodies of Fazil and Kamil madrasas would be cancelled. At the same time, directives were given to quickly form ad hoc committees at these institutions with the district commissioner (DC) and additional district commissioners (ADC) as chairpersons. When a writ was filed challenging the legality of that decision by the university authorities, the High Court issued this stay order today.
