State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku said there is no longer any scope for agitation as a wage board has been formed for garment workers. He said this in response to journalists' questions after a meeting on the ongoing unrest in the garment sector at the Savar Upazila Parishad in Dhaka on Tuesday (November 3) morning.
The state minister said a quarter is trying to fish in muddy water by capitalizing on the workers' agitation, but they will not succeed. Discussions are ongoing with the relevant parties over the workers' demands. He also urged caution if any attempt is made to destabilize the situation.

After the meeting, DIG of Dhaka Range Mostafizur Rahman said a case has been filed at the police station centering the workers' protest, and several people have been arrested for being involved in the agitation illegally. Dhaka District Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam said magistrates are performing duties in Savar and Ashulia to keep the situation normal. Local Member of Parliament Dr. Dewan Mohammad Salauddin Babu was present at the time.
