ATM Masum said anxiety has been created among the people by the seven months of activities of the current government. He claimed that 70 percent of the country's people voted ‘yes’ in favor of implementing the July Charter, but the government has not taken an oath to implement that charter.

He further said that in the current constitution Sheikh Hasina has been mentioned as prime minister; keeping this constitution in force, the current government has no moral right to stay in power. The government is practically legitimizing extortion—complaints have arisen that extortion is being collected at two to three times the amount compared with the previous government's time. Due to the rise in prices of daily necessities, the purchasing power of ordinary people has decreased; he also claimed that murders, robbery, and instability have increased in the country during this regime.
