‘No time to answer where Sheikh Hasina is saying what’

She said this while talking to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday (August 3).

The ousted prime minister and death-sentenced convict will speak at an event in Delhi on August 5. The president of the organizing club has informed the media that the Indian government has no objection to this.

In response to a request for the government’s comment on this, the state minister said, “Reports have been published on this. To whom will we raise an objection? To India? A banned organization and the head of that organization, who is a convicted accused in various crimes — the Bangladesh government has no time to respond to what he is saying and where.”

She said, “However, what we are noticing is that the Indian government has recently issued a statement saying that they do not expect any fugitive accused to sit there and deliver political speeches, and the Indian government does not support that either. And it is up to them to clarify what the Indian government’s position is regarding this online meeting or event.”
