In response to this action by Iranian forces, US forces also fired back. According to the Tasnim News report, US forces launched a counterattack targeting an abandoned area of Iran's port city of Bandar Abbas.

In a message on the Telegram messaging app, Tasnim further said that the loud explosion heard in the eastern part of Bandar Abbas was related to this exchange of fire. However, no casualties or damage have been reported from this incident.
