The accident occurred on Thursday (May 28) morning. The names and identities of the casualties were not immediately known. According to eyewitnesses and police sources, a passenger bus collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in the Bedgram area.

Five deaths were confirmed at the scene and after being taken to hospital. Due to the severity of the accident, several bus passengers and motorcycle riders were seriously injured. Local administration and fire service personnel quickly arrived at the scene, rescued the injured, and sent them to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital.

Doctors said that several of the injured are in critical condition, so the death toll may rise further. Traffic on the road was disrupted for some time after the accident. Later, police removed the two vehicles involved, bringing the situation under control.

Efforts are underway to identify the deceased, and police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
