GD filed against Anis Alamgir, Soma Islam, Piya and 6 others at Shahbagh Police Station

The GD was filed on Saturday (July 4) night. Shahbagh Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Jahangir Alam confirmed the matter on Sunday (July 5).

He said that Millat Hossain, a member of the Rastrasanglap Forum, filed the complaint. The complaint has been accepted as a GD, and the investigation has been assigned to SI Ashraf Ali. Since the complaint is cyber-related, it may be sent to the Cyber Unit if necessary.

The GD names Anis Alamgir, Soma Islam, and Jannatul Ferdous Piya, along with former Chhatra League leader and columnist Momin Mehedi, model Maria Kisputta, and model-actress Tushti.

The complaint alleges that after journalist Anis Alamgir was released from custody, he attempted to tarnish the image of the July movement by spreading misleading information about it on social media.

Soma Islam has been accused of making derogatory comments about the July movement on various television talk shows and attempting to rehabilitate the Awami League.

Jannatul Ferdous Piya has been accused of making sarcastic comments about protesters and injured individuals on social media.

Additionally, Momin Mehedi has been accused of throwing shoes at the July movement memorial and making misleading statements about martyr Abu Sayeed.

The GD further states that Maria Kisputta referred to the July movement as a 'terrorist movement' on social media. Meanwhile, model-actress Tushti has been accused of spreading propaganda by calling the movement a 'month of deception'.

However, no immediate response was received from the individuals named in the complaint. The veracity of the allegations will be verified through investigation.
