Cox's Bazar Meteorological Office assistant meteorologist Md. Abdul Hannan said that due to a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal and active monsoon winds, the area is experiencing heavy to very heavy rainfall. This situation may continue for at least another two days.

Meanwhile, authorities have warned that there is a risk of further landslides in the Rohingya refugee camps due to continuous rain.

It is noteworthy that currently, about 14 lakh 50 thousand registered Rohingya are living in the Rohingya refugee camps established in the forests of Ukhia and Teknaf in 2017. Among them, about 80,000 people are at high risk of landslides. Every monsoon season, landslides cause casualties in these camps.
